ROCHESTER, N.Y. - After an 11-day break from game action, the D’Youville women’s volleyball team returned to the court in the Roberts Wesleyan Tournament at the Voller Athletic Center, taking on Stonehill and American International. The Saints fell to 0–6 after Friday’s doubleheader. The Saints dropped the opener to Stonehill, 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-16), before falling to American International, 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-10), in match two.

Match 1: vs. Stonehill

The Saints fell behind early as the Skyhawks took the first set, 25-15. Sophomore Brianna Damstetter led D'Youville, converting all three of her total attacks into D’Youville points. Freshman Eve Musielak followed suit with two kills of her own, while fellow freshman Nathalya Rocha also picked up a kill in the opening set.

The Skyhawks continued to control the game in the second set, taking down the Saints 25-14 with a 16-5 advantage in kills, 5-0 edge in service aces and used a whopping .407 hitting percentage in the second set.

D’Youville came up empty-handed in the third and final set, falling 25-16. Rocha finished with a team-high seven kills and eight points for the match, while Damsetter had five kills on six total attempts (.833 K%). Freshman Samantha Killane paced the Saints in digs with nine while Musielak chipped in five.

Match 2: vs. American International

D'Youville and AIC played a back and forth set one. The Saints found themselves down 10-5 before rallying to tie the opening set at 15 on a kill from Olivia Jarosz. AIC then took a 21-18 lead off a service error and then scored the set's final four points.

The Saints jumped out to a fast 5-1 lead in set two. A 5-1 from the Yellow Jackets then tied the set at six. AIC then took a 13-8 before back-to-back points from the Saints kills from Musielak, and Killane made it 13-10. That was as close as D'Youville got for the remainder of the set.

AIC got out to a 10-1 lead in the third set and didn't look back. D'Youville got it back to within single digits at 17-8, but an 8-2 run sealed the three-set sweep for AIC.
