Women's Tennis Stays Hot, Defeats Alfred

ALFRED N.Y. - Head coach Sydney Rice and the D’Youville women’s tennis continued their winning ways Saturday afternoon, defeating Alfred University, 6-3, in non-conference play. D’Youville’s second win in as many days improves the Saints to 2-0 on the young season.  

In singles play, the Saints went 4-2, highlighted by dominating victories from freshman Camilla Duteil (6-2, 6-1), freshman Yuliia Kashtelian (6-0, 6-0). The pair also teamed up for an 8-0 doubles victory during Saturday’s contest. Junior Alisson Meissner also picked up a convincing victory (6-2, 6-1) for the Saints. Alongside sophomore Katrina Whipple, Meissner picked up D’Youville’s second doubles win (8-4). Freshman Katelyn Hoover’s singles victory went to three sets where Hoover prevailed (6-0, 0-6, 10-8) to give the Saints the edge in single’s duals.

The Saints will have a week off from game action before taking on Le Moyne in another non-conference road match on Saturday, September 11, with play set to get underway at noon.
