Honoring its senior class prior to the start of the contest, the D'Youville women's lacrosse team was unable to slow down the offensive attack of No. 15 Roberts Wesleyan in a 21-2 loss Saturday afternoon at Dobson Field.

The Redhawks remained perfect on the season with the East Coast Conference win, moving to 8-0 and 4-0 in the ECC. The Saints fell to 2-5 overall and 0-3 in league action.

Emily Tomei had the biggest impact of the day, netting seven goals for the visitors to go with an assist and five draw controls, while her teammate Madison Bell finished with one goal and five assists in the winning effort. For the home side, sophomore midfielder Bethany Wolcott scored the only two D'Youville goals, grabbing three ground balls as well in the defeat.

Roberts opened the scoring at the 27:33 mark of the first half, as Lindsey Brinkel found twine off a Taylor Nathan pass. That started a streak of nine-straight Redhawk goals in just over 14 minutes of play, as Tomei scored four times in that span.

Wolcott got the Saints on the board with 12:01 left in the frame, scoring unassisted with her team down a woman. It did not take long for the Redhawks to respond, as Brinkel tallied her second goal of the game just under a minute later, with Alexis Grant and Tomei both scoring additional goals before the end of the first half.

Coming out of the break, Roberts continued their scoring output as Tomei assisted on a Jessica Giancursio goal before finding the cage herself for her sixth tally of the afternoon. Wolcott broke up the run, again beating the Roberts defense for an unassisted goal at 23:35 in the second half.

It would be all Roberts the rest of the way, as the Redhawks padded their lead by scoring seven more goals by the time the final horn sounded.

Natalie Arieno got the victory in the crease for the Redhawks, making three saves, while freshman goalkeeper Hannah Wilson was saddled with the loss for the Saints despite four saves.

Notables – The all-time series shifted to 2-0 in favor of the Redhawks ... The two goals from Wolcott gives her four multi-goal contests this season ... D'Youville struggled with clear attempts, going 7-for-16, while Roberts went 12-for-14 on clears ...
