The D'Youville women's lacrosse team was unable to slow down the offensive juggernaut that was No. 20 Roberts Wesleyan on Friday afternoon in Rochester, N.Y. The Redhawks defeated the Saints by a lopsided 23-4 score in East Coast Conference action, improving upon their perfect season.

The win moved the Redhawks to 7-0 and an undefeated 3-0 record in ECC play, while the Saints fell to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the league standings.

Lindsey Brinkel got the home team going at the 26:28 mark of the first half, starting an 11-goal run by the Redhawks that included three goals each for Alexis Grant and Taylor Nathan. With just over 12 minutes left in the half, senior Isabella Lucania got the Saints on the board with a free-position goal to cut the deficit. Emily Tomei responded by netting two goals in under two minutes and Nathan added her fourth tally of the game at the 5:30 mark to give Roberts a 14-1 edge.

Sophomore Bethany Wolcott stopped the Roberts run by burying a goal off a pass from Riley Riedel at 1:42, but Grant tacked on one more goal with 16 seconds left in the frame to extend the lead to 15-2.

Lucania struck first in the second half, putting home an unassisted tally just under three minutes into the period. Three Roberts goals followed before Wolcott got her second score of the day, beating Roberts goalkeeper Natalie Arieno with 15:05 left in the contest. Unfortunately, the Redhawks would stamp out any surge by the Saints, rattling off five more goals before the final horn sounded on the victory.
