ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The D’Youville women’s rowing team took part in their first competition since October 2019 at the Head of the Genesee in the Varsity 4+ race.  

D’Youville finished in fifth place with a time of 22:44.91. Racing in the Spirit of St. Marguerite d’Youville was freshman Alana Szumla, freshman Vanessa Gittings, sophomore Madeline Kensinger, freshman Julia Cecil, and freshman Elise Walent. 

“Today was about finding out where we stand against local competitors and what we need to work on to improve at the Head of the Niagara,” said Michael Cute after his first race as D’Youville’s head coach.
