The D'Youville bowling program is getting ready for a busy month of February that features four matches in seven days and all six events coming across a two-week span.
A Look Ahead - Head coach Susan Jeziorski and the Saints will get the program's second season, their first as an NCAA Division II provisional member, underway with a match at Mercyhurst on Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. D'Youville then faces off with former AMCC rival Medaille on Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m. from Classic Lanes in Buffalo, N.Y. The following evening, D'Youville will see Medaille again, along with Daemen and Roberts Wesleyan, in the first of three matches between the four schools. The Feb. 19 match is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. from Airport Lanes. The three teams will meet up again at Manor Lanes II that Sunday (Feb. 21) for an 11 a.m. match. D'Youville, Daemen, Roberts Wesleyan, and Medaille will complete the Buffalo-area tour at Lancaster Lanes on Wednesday, Feb. 24, with that event set to begin at 6:30 p.m. The Saints will close out the season on Feb. 27 when they head to Penn State Behrand for a 10 a.m. match.
A Look Back - In the first season of competition for the program, D'Youville put together a year-long effort that saw the team finish fourth in the AMCC Round Robin and earn a spot in the AMCC Finals. Unfortunately, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic prevented the AMCC Finals from taking place, prematurely ending the squad's first campaign. For their individual efforts, Ashley Len and Chloe Strong were named to the All-AMCC Second Team and Third Team, respectively.
This Year's Team - The 2021 edition of D'Youville Bowling returns four members from last season, headlined by Len and fellow senior Rebecca Hennessy, with juniors Rebecca Weiss and Emily Williams also coming back. Additionally, the 2021 Saints will feature freshmen bowlers Alexis Klenke and Emmalie Rome.
Home Base - The Saints will serve as the hosts for the Feb. 19 multi-team event, as D'Youville will square off with Daemen, Medaille and Roberts Wesleyan in their home bowling alley, Airport Lanes.
