After an eight-game road swing, the D'Youville softball team returns to Dobson Field for an East Coast Conference doubleheader with Bridgeport on Friday, April 9, before heading back downstate for a pair of conference twinbills with Queens College on Sunday, April 11, and Molloy on Monday, April 12. 

Last Time Out – The Saints only played two games last weekend after an April 3 doubleheader at St. Thomas Aquinas was postponed to a later date. In their only action last weekend, D'Youville dropped an ECC doubleheader at Mercy, 8-0 and 4-3, on Friday, April 2, in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. In the nightcap, the Saints jumped out to a 3-0 advantage, highlighted by a single to center field from senior Brittaney Goodrich, driving in sophomore Jamie BowerA three-run bottom of the sixth from the Mavericks, including the go-ahead RBI from Alyssa Guzman on base hit to right field, handed the Saints their fourth loss in ECC play. 

Tale of the Tape – The Saints and Purple Knights are meeting for their second doubleheader in two weeks as Bridgeport took a pair of one-run games from the Saints, 4-3 and 1-0, back on March 27 in Bridgeport, Conn. D'Youville will meet Queens College and Molloy for the first time since the Saints joined the East Coast Conference. D'Youville is scheduled for another doubleheader with Queens on Sunday, April 24, and the Saints will see Molloy again for two more on Friday, April 30. Both of those twinbills are set to take place at Dobson Field.

D'Youville by the Numbers – Senior Maddy Pepke leads a group of six Saints that are batting .300 or better through 12 games this season. Pepke holds a .452 batting average, followed by junior Mikaela Milleville (.361 AVG), Bower (.355 AVG), freshman Ava Miller (.353 AVG), and senior Rachel Colan (.303 AVG) ... As a team, the Saints are hitting .259 with a .363 on-base percentage, and a .371 slugging percentage ... Bower leads the team and sits tied for third in the conference with 11 RBI, while freshman Lauren Booth sits at second on the team with seven RBI and freshman Lauren Vickers has six RBI, good for third on the Saints ... In the circle, senior Alexa Haberer leads the team and is tied for second in the conference with four wins ... Haberer also paces the Saints with 22 strikeouts and Goodrich's 21 strikeouts place her at second on the squad ... Booth's 1.75 ERA is a team-best and is the fourth-lowest in the league. 

Bridgeport at a Glance – After sweeping the Saints just two weeks ago, Bridgeport picked up two more ECC wins over Molloy, 9-6 and 4-0, on Saturday, April 3. Like the Saints last week, the Purple Knights were unable to play an ECC doubleheader with St. Thomas Aquinas. Sam Ferreri (.467 AVG), Elyssa Marmolejo (.429 AVG), and Meg McFarland (.313 AVG) lead the Purple Knights at the plate through four games ... Kaite Burawski (3-0), the reigning ECC Pitcher of the Week, leads Bridgeport in the circle with 38 strikeouts (Second in the ECC) and has only surrendered one earned run in 22.0 innings pitched, good for a league-best 0.32 ERA. 

Queens College at a Glance – The Knights are finally getting their 2021 campaign underway after postponing their first eight games before hitting the field for a pair of conference matchups with Staten Island on Saturday, April 3. Queens dropped both home games, 6-0 and 9-4Marisa Sagona and Noelle Bryggman led the Knights' offensive attack with three hits apiece in the season-opening twinbill 

Molloy at a Glance – The Lions have already played 18 games this season and have picked up 11 victories during their campaign. Despite picking up double-digit wins, the Lions have been tamed in conference play with a 2-4 mark against ECC opposition. Mercy picked up their two league wins in their last game action, sweeping a doubleheader over Staten Island, 2-0 and 13-4, on Tuesday, April 6. Chrissie Huhn (.435 AVG), Courtney Greene (.362 AVG), Akemi Poyer (.343 AVG), and Marissa Nicoletti ( .339 AVG) lead the Lions at the plate the season and Nicoletti's 14 RBI pace the team and the conference. Huhn (12 RBI) sits at second in the ECC, and Greene (11 RBI) is tied with D'Youville's Bower for third. The Lions have circled the bases 13 times in 2021, including a team-high three home runs from Mikaela Tribby.
