After a strong finish to last weekend's marathon of doubleheaders, the D'Youville softball team will look to build on that momentum in a pair of East Coast Conference twin-bills this weekend with the College of Staten Island and Queens College (N.Y.).

Last Time Out – The Saints exchanged conference victories with first-place St. Thomas Aquinas College on April 18. The Saints held off the Spartans in the bottom of the seventh inning to snap an eight-game losing skid in game one but were unable to hold off STAC's rally in game two, as the Spartans walked-off the Saints, 3-2 ... Senior pitcher Brittaney Goodrich guided the Saints to their third conference victory of the season in her second consecutive complete-game outing ... Four Saints hit safely multiple times in the twin-bill split, led by senior shortstop Rachel Colan (4-for-7, one triple, one RBI, one stolen base), junior second baseman Maddy Pepke (4-for-8, one run scored, one stolen base), junior right fielder Mikaela Milleville (3-for-7, one RBI, two runs scored), and sophomore catcher Jamie Bower (2-for-7, double, one RBI, one run scored).

Tale of the Tape – In their first meeting as ECC opponents, the Saints swept a doubleheader over the Dolphins, 4-1 and 13-3, on March 29, at Staten Island ... Senior pitcher Alexa Haberer tossed her fifth complete game of the season. In seven innings, the right-hander fanned six batters (four looking) and issued three walks while allowing no earned runs on four hits ... Goodrich got the nod in the circle for game two. In 4.2 innings, the senior righty struck out five batters and issued only one walk while allowing three earned runs on four hits ... Six Saints hit safely more than once in the March sweep. D'Youville was paced by Milleville (4-for-7; two doubles, one RBI, two runs scored, one stolen base), followed by freshman Ava Miller (4-for-8, two RBI, one run scored), Pepke (4-for-9; four runs scored), freshman Lauren Booth (3-for-5; three RBI, two runs scored), Bower (3-for-7; two doubles, four RBI, two runs scored), and Goodrich (2-for-5; two RBI, three runs scored). As a team, D'Youville racked up 21 hits, including 17 in game two.

D'Youville by the Numbers – Three Saints are batting over .300 through 20 games this season, paced by Pepke (.420 AVG), followed by Milleville (.357 AVG) and Colan (.309 AVG). Pepke and Milleville also share a team-high in stolen bases with five apiece as Bower sits atop the D'Youville tally in runs batted in with 13. In the circle, Booth holds a team-best 2.85 ERA while Haberer's 35 strikeouts and four wins are both D'Youville bests.

Senior Day Squared – The Saints will honor their 2020 senior class prior to Saturday's doubleheader, while this year's seniors, Colan and Goodrich, will be celebrated before Sunday's twin-bill.

CSI at a Glance – After getting swept by the Saints in March, the Dolphins bounced back, taking two from Queens, 6-0 and 9-4, on April 3. CSI also picked up wins on April 10 over Mercy and April 17, splitting a doubleheader with Queens. Emily Koerick's .432 batting average and Samantha MacPherson's .404 average at the plate lead the Dolphin offensive attack that is hitting .252 on the season. Elizabeth Moore holds a team-high eight runs batted in, while Isabel Gallo and Claudia Porcaro have driven in seven runs.

Queens at a Glance – The Knights have stumbled to a 2-12 mark this season. Their lone victories came on April 8 over Molloy and on April 17 in a 4-2 win over CSI. Queens will enter Sunday's doubleheader with the Saints looking to erase a five-game losing skid dating back to game two of the April 17 twin-bill. Marisa Sagona leads the Knights at the plate with a .381 batting average while Noelle Bryggman followers her up with a .357 average. Sagona's seven RBI are also a team best.
