The red-hot D'Youville softball team will look to build on its four-game winning streak as it ventures down-state to wrap-up the 2021 regular season with three doubleheaders, beginning Friday evening with Molloy, where the Saints will play as the home teamD'Youville will return to Bob Klein Field on Saturday as the guests for two more contests with the Lions before making the short drive to Flushing, N.Y. for a Sunday doubleheader at Queens College.

A successful weekend will help the Saints make their case for postseason play as they look to become one of the eight teams to receive an invite to the USCAA Softball Championship in May.

Tale of the Tape – The Lions are the lone East Coast Conference team yet to face D'Youville this season. The Saints and Lions were set to meet for a twin-bill on April 12, but the games were postponed due to weather ... Queens College fell twice at the hands of D'Youville in a pair of one-run games at Dobson Field. The Saints will look to take the season series on the final day of the regular season.

Last Time Out – A pair of doubleheader sweeps over Staten Island and Queens helped the Saints move back to a .500 record at 12-12 on the season ... D'Youville put on an offensive clinic in the Saturday sweep over CSI, taking game one, 10-0, and game two, 8-1. Freshman pitcher Lauren Booth was equally impressive in the circle, tossing her first career no-hitter in the opening victory, while reigning ECC and USCAA Player of the Week Maddy Pepke hit her third inside-the-park home run of the season ... On Sunday, timely hitting late in the game helped D'Youville to the first of two nail-biting wins. Pepke's triple in the fifth inning tied the game at one, and senior shortstop Rachel Colan's walk-off single in the seventh inning drove Pepke home from third base after she led off the frame with an infield single ... The Saints raced out to an early 10-run cushion at 12-2 in the rematch thanks to a six-run first, four-run second, and a two-run third inning. Sophomore center fielder Carly Milleville highlighted the big first inning with a grand slam, her first homer at D'Youville. Queens responded with a seven-run fifth-inning rally and added a pair in the sixth to draw within one run of the D'Youville advantage. Booth, who was knocked out in the fifth, re-entered the game and tossed a scoreless seventh inning to close it out.

D'Youville by the Numbers – Pepke's 10-for-14 weekend at the plate ballooned her season batting total to a conference-best .470 average ... Two other Saints are also batting over .300 this season: junior outfielder Mikaela Milleville (.406 AVG) and Colan (.333 AVG) … Sophomore catcher Jamie Bower sits atop the D'Youville tally in runs batted in with 17, which is also good for third place in the ECC … Milleville's six stolen bases are a team high while Pepke has swiped five bases and Colon has stolen four ... After 47 hits in the four wins last weekend, the Saints boosted their team batting average to .284 with a .345 on-base percentage and a .375 slugging percentage.

Molloy at a Glance – The Lions are riding a six-game win streak that includes two sweeps over St. Thomas Aquinas sandwiched around a pair of victories against Queens ... The Lions sit one spot ahead of D'Youville in the conference standings on winning percentage ... Entering this week's action, Chrissie Huhn (.419 AVG) leads the Lions offensive attack, followed by Grace Rende (.367 AVG) and Courtney Greene (.344 AVG). Greene's 23 RBI and five home runs are both team highs while her RBI total is also best in the ECC, and her home run total is good for second best.

Queens at a Glance – The Knights will be fitting in a busy week with three doubleheaders before meeting the Saints for the second Sunday in a row. Queens suffered a Tuesday sweep to Molloy, and are hosting Mercy on Thursday, before traveling to Bridgeport for two more contests on Saturday. Entering Thursday, Marisa Sagona leads the Knights at the plate with a .333 batting average, followed by Noelle Bryggman (.327 AVG), and Ann Grimshaw (.255 AVG). Danielle D'Angelo paces the Knights with nine RBI while Sargona and Alyssa Wilkinson have each driven in seven runs.
