
GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. – The 2021 season for the D'Youville men's cross country team opened with a third-place finish at the Daniel Walker Invitational, hosted by Buffalo State.
The hosts won the event as a team with a score of 22. Alfred State (44 points) was second, followed by D'Youville (80) and then Hilbert (102). Alfred State's Gavin Bathgate won the 5k race in 16:38.07.
Henry Smith paced the Saints on Saturday afternoon. The freshman finished seventh with a time of 17:56.51. David Oswald was the second Saint to cross the line, which he did in 14th overall (19:31.15).
Dalton Holthouse stopped the clock in 22:02.50 to finished 22nd for D'Youville. Tylor Muscarella was 28th (23:26.11), and Dominick Harris was 32nd (29:26.38) to conclude the scoring finishers for the Saints.
D'Youville runs next at the Daemen Duals on Saturday, September 11, at Bassett Park.
