ALFRED, N.Y. – Three first-half goals proved enough for the D'Youville men's soccer team against Alfred University on Saturday afternoon. The Saints move to 4-0 on the year and it is the first time since the 2018 season that the Saints have been unbeaten in four straight contests.

Guillermo Cabello got the Saints on the board in the 26th minute. Cabello put in a rebound off a shot from Nick Dumond. Cabello beat the Saxon's goalkeeper to the loose ball and put it home back across the face of the goal.

D'Youvlle doubled its lead when Noah Steele put in a rebound off another Dumond shot in the 28th minute. Dumond spun around a defender and put a shot on goal that Steele cleaned up with his run down the middle of the box. The third goal for the Saints came when an Alfred U defender tried to clear a corner but headed it into his own goal with 40 seconds left in the half.

Alfred U got one back in the second half when Andrew Carrillo Macias found the back of the net in the 57th minute.

Dumond's two assists pushed his team-leading points total to 26 through four games … Steele's tally was his fourth of the season … Cabello netted his first of the season and became the ninth different Saint to score this season … Ethan Picard picked up his third win in as many starts between the pipes …

Daniel Koenig made nine stops in goal for the Saxons, who fell to 0-2-1 on the season with the loss …
