Buffalo, NY - The D'Youville women's lacrosse team suffered their second straight loss, falling to the Buffalo State Bengals by the final score of 18-0.
Buffalo State boasts one of the best scoring attacks in the country and they showcased that early and often against the Spartans. The sixth ranked scoring attack in the nation scored six goals in the first eight minutes of the game, adding seven more before halftime.
In the second half, the Bengals added three more goals to bring their total to 18 as they won by the final score of 18-0.
Julie Fleming (Tonawanda, NY/Mt. St. Mary's Academy) led the team with three ground balls, followed by Alison Gareis (Buffalo, NY/Buffalo Seminary) and Callan Smith (Amherst, NY/Amherst) with two. Sierra Brooks (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) and Jillian Golding (Lockport, NY/Lockport) each had two draw controls while Golding led the team with three shots.
D'Youville will next play this Sunday, March 25 as they host the Franciscan Barons at 1:00pm.
